Terms & Conditions

Important Information

Please read carefully before booking lessons or courses.

Note: All block booking payments are non refundable. In exceptional circumstances and at the instructor’s discretion, any refunds that are to be made should be directly with the instructor.
1 Provisional Licence Requirement
You must hold a valid UK provisional driving licence and present it to your driving instructor at the start of your first lesson. You must bring your licence with you to all your lessons and tests. Failure to do so will result in the lesson and/or test being cancelled without a refund.
2 Punctuality
It is your responsibility to be on time for your lessons. As the driving instructor may have other lessons to deliver, the lessons will not be extended to compensate for you arriving late.
3 Missed Lessons / No-Show
If you do not attend a lesson, the driving instructor will be entitled to keep the full tuition fee of the missed lesson and the lesson time will be deducted from your course hours.
4 No Contact for 3 Weeks
If your instructor does not hear from you for more than three weeks and you do not respond to any of their messages, your place and pre–paid lessons will be lost. Please take your driving course seriously.
5 Pre-Paid Deals & Unused Time
If pre–paid deals are not completed before you pass the practical test with us, any unused training time will be recalculated at the normal lesson rate and the remainder refunded accordingly. If a gap of longer than three weeks goes by and we have not heard from you then all pre–paid deals will be lost. Please keep in touch with your instructor.
6 48 Hours Cancellation Policy
Lessons cancelled at short notice or missed for whatever reason (48hrs before lesson start time) will require payment in full. It is your responsibility to check times and dates of lessons.
7 Practical Test - Use of Car
Practical test: We reserve the right to withhold the use of the driving school car for practical test, if in the instructor’s opinion the chances of passing the test are unrealistic.
8 Practical Test - Instructor Illness / Mechanical Failure
If the driving school car is unavailable on the day of the practical test due to instructor illness or mechanical failure, we will try our best to allocate another instructor. If this is not possible, we will refund test fees incurred by you in full unless plenty of notice has been given for you to change your test date.
9 DVSA Cancellation
If the practical test is cancelled by the Driving and Vehicle Standard Agency, it is normal practice for the test fee to be refunded by them. However, lessons booked on the day will be subject to the 48 hours’ late notice cancellation and will require payment. (Some of these fees can normally be claimed back from the D.V.S.A).
10 Conduct & Safety
The driving instructor may refuse to proceed with a lesson if you use abusive language or threatening behaviour, or if you fail to act on any reasonable request. The instructor may also refuse if they believe you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
11 Alcohol / Drugs / Medication
Your lesson will be cancelled, and your fee will be lost if you turn up for a lesson under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medication, or any substance that leaves you unfit to drive.
12 Complaints Procedure
In the event of a complaint all efforts must be made to resolve the problem directly with the instructor. If a suitable solution is not reached then the complaint should be put in writing to: info@mhdrivingschool.co.uk
13 GDPR & Data Retention
In accordance with the GDPR, we will hold personal information relevant to your driving course for 1 year after you have completed your course. If you would like your information deleting before this date please contact MH Driving School on 01274900177 or email info@mhdrivingschool.co.uk.
14 Payments & Expiry
All driving courses and lessons are due for payment on or before the lesson start date. All bookings must be completed within 1 year. Otherwise, they will expire.
